Floating boathouse

Almost 30 years ago after purchasing our cottage, we constructed a U-shaped dock and a post and beam type deck that covered the boat slip. Plastic barrels were used for flotation and a set of stairs accessed the upper deck. It still stands today and is the inspiration for our boathouses and covered boat slips.

 

George has been a master carpenter for 35 years, starting out with his father renovating offices and building schools, then moved on to start his own company in 1986. He has built custom homes, renovated numerous other homes and offices and prides himself on maintaining extremely high standards of workmanship.

 

Due to fluctuating lake levels, George realized long ago that there was a gap in the market for floating boathouses that fit in with the environment and looked aesthetically pleasing. He set about designing his first boathouse, an open concept, timber framed dock, with an upper deck. A few years later he had a full series of models, approved by engineers and began manufacturing
